About Righteous Defense macro?

Previous Entry Righteous Defense macro? Feb. 26th, 2007 @ 10:05 pm Next Entry
Hey guys,

Just a simple question - I wonder how my fellow paladins use their Righteous Defense spell. I have configured Benecast now, but it stays a pain in the behind to have to check who is having the aggro when you're maintanking (I can handle the multitasking just fine when I'm being my off-tanky support self :) )! Non-paladins: it's a taunt that is not applied to the mob you're fighting, but the person getting aggro from the mob.

So, does anyone have any tips or macro's perhaps? :) I really don't have much macro-skillz besides the /target /cast!

Any help is appreciated!

# showtooltip Righteous Defense
/cast [exists,help] Righteous Defense ; [target=targettarget] Righteous Defense

The first line makes sure that the macro still shows the Righteous Defense tooltip.

The second line says "If my current target exists and is friendly, cast the spell, else cast it on the target of my current target". The upshot of which is that if you're targeting a friendly you cast it on them, else you're presumably targeting a hostile and you cast it on their target on the assumption THAT is a friendly. Works for me.

You can do a similar thing with a Warrior's "Intervene" ability.

Thanks a lot, I'll try it out tonight :) Thanks for the explanation too, that tooltip part is nifty!

BTW I hope it's not your arm on that icon, it looks painful :)
